Introduction

When a botanist is onsite, soil samples are routinely collected for floatation. However, when this is not the case soil collection is usually limited to special circumstances such as graves or unique soils such as baqaya. All seed specimens are collected for analysis whether or not suitable for carbon dating.

Soil samples were taken from 16 locations. Three were from burials (grave 2, grave 1, and jar burial), while cement and baqaya were unique soils.
Seed specimens were taken from 7 locations. Six were contaminated by touching, but the most significant was used to carbon date grave 2.
