The 2010 season

was the inaugural year of the Gulfsands Urkesh Exploration Fund. We have recognized Gulfsands' special contribution in a number of ways.

     Excavations are of course our major endeavor. The results of the 2010 season have brought the confirmation of what was previously just a bold hypothesis.
     Gulfsands shares in our contributing much more than temporary employment, important though that is, to the people working with us.
     A short video highlights the new meaning that the word "exploration" acquires when we associate ourselves to Gulfsands goals.
     We prepared as set of posters especially designed to match the results obtained in 2010 with Gulfsands involvement in our work.
     A special edition of a distinctive Folio size volume about the 2009 excavations was imprinted with Gulfsands name.
     Each of the public presentations given by members of our staff include a statement which highlights the Gulfsands role in making our project possible. We refer here to those that have taken place since the 2010 excavations.
     Each of our publications, scholarly and otherwise (not to mention, of course, this very website), includes as well a reference to Gulfsands support through its special Exploration Fund.
