ds This is the impression of a cylinder seal cut with a pattern of intertwined ropes.  There are two partial rollings of the same seal.  Also, there is a notch on the reverse, possibly from a string. The impression is deep and clear, suggesting that the seal was well-made and relatively new.
cn There is a fresh break along one side, but little of the design was lost. We sifted the surrounding soil but did not fine the missing piece.
nt This preliminary cleaning and analysis was conducted by jW at the direction of mKB, who will more fully analyze it in a future season.

ds A portion of a clay sealing, broken in antiquity. It has cloth and string impressions on the reverse while on the obverse, along one edge, is possibly the impression made by the rim of a stamp seal.

ds A body sherd with the usual inscribed straight line part of a potters' mark. In addition, it has an impressed half circle and a possible small rectangle next to it.  It is possible that the combination may represent a more complicated potters mark, a capacity mark, or the beginning of writing.

ds A body sherd with a hole (diameter of 0.56cm) drilled through the exterior.  The function of the hole is not known.  The exterior is smooth with some chaff marks on the surface, while the interior is secondarily burned.
