Ceramic Pages

During the different seasons Marilyn Kelly-Buccellati produced many ceramic pages, i.e. assemblages of different sherds, created for specific reasons. Being an enormous amount of very useful informations we decided to integrate them in this section with a brief general exlapanation of the different assemblage categories. In further editions of digital book they will be eventually created automatically. For each single assemblage, please look at assemblages (b) on the right hand side section.
The assemblages were born to show specific informations (typical or unusual sherds in a feature/stratum, typical decorations, typical shapes or ware), so they get a meaning in the moment in which they were born and they can not be considered as general/wide meaningful. At the same time this original meaning/function makes the pages randomly produced and they are not sistematically done for all the features or strata.
They are usually referred to a feature or a stratum. Tipologically they can be divided in typological pages: ware (b11, b31), decoration (b7, b10, b39, b44), shapes (b16, b48, b52-b74) typical of features or strata.
Some of these assemblages instead, even though referred to a single or more feature belonging to the same stratum, show sherds typical of different phases (b32-b37). They reflect the stratigraphy and is a further data attested on the field proving the recorded stratigraphy.
